The Pink Heretic was born out of the need to fight bigotry, ignorance and religious doctrine through reason and science. I am an Aussie who also happens to be atheist, agnostic, humanist, a freethinking skeptic, classical feminist, science loving, as well as passionate about human rights and making the world a better place. Having said that, there may be occasions when calling out idiocy is in order. I intend to make this website a place to find information, interesting tidbits and discuss rational and not so rational issues. You may discover twitter weirdos, or even twitter heroes on this blog. I will endeavor to point out errors in creationist falsehoods.
I am not a scientist by any means, but I do my best to become well studied in areas of evolution, biology and reason in an effort to point out hypocrisy and bigotry.

I have just now heard about the shooting at Planned Parenthood. Being Australian I had not realised they had happened in the past, but given the gun culture in the USA I am not sure why I hadn’t guessed it had happened before...
“Faith taints or at worst removes our curiosity about the world, what we should value, and what type of life we should lead. Faith replaces wonder with epistemological arrogance disguised as false humility. Faith immutably alters the starting conditions for inquiry by uprooting a hunger to know and sowing a warrantless confidence.”
~ Peter Boghossian
“There is something infantile in the presumption that somebody else has a responsibility to give your life meaning and point… The truly adult view, by contrast, is that our life is as meaningful, as full and as wonderful as we choose to make it.”
~ Richard Dawkins
